Activists of the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) today at the GSA stand at the Belgrade Civil Society Organizations Fair (CSO Fair) spoke to citizens about the status of LGBT population in Serbia and shared promotional material relating to the arguments against the most common prejudices about this population.

As opposed to two years ago when, on the same occasion, Sava Centre forbade the conference to be held there, Gay Straight Alliance held a conference today to present its annual Report on the state of human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Serbia for 2010 – “Step by Step“ – in the Belgrade City Hall.

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and Labris – Organisation for Lesbian Human Rights have today called on Republic of Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremić to support joint Statement for cease of violence over LGBT persons and breaches of guaranteed human rights on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity (The Statement), that will be submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council on 22nd March 2011.
