FollowDemocratic party (DS) most severely condemns and regards as unacceptable any violence and discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) people in Serbia.
Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) and DS held a meeting today in the headquarters of the Democratic party where both sides expressed a high level of agreement on the methods of fighting violence and homophobia, as well as the need to solve all relevant issues important for the GLBT community in Serbia.
DS has supported GSA’s idea to create a national strategy for solving these issues.
DS has also expressed support for the Pride Parade as one of the means for improving the position of the GLBT population in Serbia.
DS was represented at this meeting by the party secretary Tamara Tripić, and the president of the Executive Board of DS and an MP Marko Đurišić.
GSA is satisfied with the meeting with DS and regards it as very important, considering that GSA sees the Democratic party as the political bearer of changes in Serbia.
